The Power of Money

You have heard the famous saying, “Money is the Root of all Evil” Well, you have heard it right. Money is indeed the Root of all Evil. But apparently there is just one mistake. The mistake is in the way we got the Proverb interpreted to us.

We were told that Money is the Evil that causes Evil. Let us assume for one moment that it is so and proceed to find if it was really the case.

Assume that you have a important presentation at your office and you are late to work. You wait for the morning bus and apparently the bus seemed to have been caught in a Traffic jam that had apparently resulted because the government employees who are responsible for cleaning the roads are striking for better livelihood.

You get desperate and as luck would have it you spot a taxi heading towards you, you wave at it and so does the person standing next to you. The cab stops, as you enter you realize it is your assistant who was this other person who waved too. You smile and politely ask her to join you.

As you rest back, you are much relieved to the fact that you would still be on time for the presentation. Now when time comes to alight, you grab your wallet to pay but apparently you realize that there is nothing there to grab.

You had forgotten your wallet. You are now in a desperate spot. You start to profusely sweat, wondering at the consequences. Suddenly a gentle voice erupts, “keep the change, thank you”

Your assistant had just saved your face from a terrible embarrassment and possibly a jail term for using a service without paying for it.

Now the much important question, “Do you really think that Money is evil?”

The very fact that the young assistant was able to bail you out was due to the presence of one single commodity in her possession, Cash.

That Cash not only saved your face but your job as well. Which means bread on the table for another month thus ensuring the sustenance of your family as well as hers.

We started off by assuming that Money is evil, but ended seeing the good it can do. This only goes to show that our assumption contradicts the conclusion. For, there can no good emanate from evil and no evil can emanate from good. Evil brings forth evil and likewise, Good brings forth Good.

Everything has a price in this Mortal world, but nobody talks about the price

The world that we live in is very funny. The preachers preach that money is not important yet still the man who supports their outreaches would be reserved the best spot in their Assemblies. And If by any chance you would want to head to the front rows, you would simply be shunned by their ushers and redirected to the rear end, all in the name of guidance.

No one gives a damn even if you were to die of thirst,…

Just imagine you are on one of those sales errands. The sun is baking you out alive. Your body is dehydrated and your tongue sticks to your throat. You need a life saving drink. Water, better still if you could get a chilled beer.

You search your trousers and manage to muster out those cents. You count them out, only to realize that you are short by 20 cents. The question is, do you think the Supermarket that you are standing now, would let you walk away with that life saving beer?

You don’t need Rocket science to figure out the result just in case if you were to walk out without paying the full cost for the beer. We know you are desperate, you need the life saver. But without those 20 cents, there is No way out.

It is such a shameful state that we are living in. No one gives a damn when you are short or even broke. The irony is, with such being the state of affairs of the people of the world, yet we have those so called guardians of the society who preach to condemn us, the moment we carry out some side hustles to earn those 20 cents. Isn’t is sad, its a pathetic.

Clothes make up a man?

This famous saying clearly tells the worth of every man. The world does not respect you for what you are or for what you stand for, but for what you wear. If your wrist is adorned with a Rolex watch, doors will flung open and seats will be vacated.

But on the contrary, if you were to walk around with Toilet slippers and a tramp’s trunk, the chances are there that you wont even be allowed to stand at a place for more than 10 minutes. They will call on the cops to have you removed.

Can a man live without Honor?

A famous line from the movie, “El CID“, spoken by a star of the silver screens, Mr. Charlton Heston, the man best remembered for his character, Moses, that he played in the Mega Block Buster movie, The 10 Commandments.

Those words of wisdom is still appropriate even today for the world we knew yesterday, rewarded and honored, gallantry, courage and bravery. But today, it all boils down to Money, the single most entity that commands the honor for the man who beholds it.

The best foods in Supermarkets are reserved and you have no clue where they are,…

Take food for example. We have supermarkets and mega supermarkets and if you had noticed, the products would be all arranged according to the purchasing power of the masses.

The High end quality products are often placed at some corner of the store. It is not that they don’t give priorities to the affluent but they just don’t want the ordinary masses to disturb these shelves. The Rich know it and the poor are too meek to know it.

Yet still there is so much talk about eating healthy foods whilst no talk on the purchasing power that one has. countless TV shows and programs tell you to buy this and that, but they never tell you how you could afford them. T

There is Equality everywhere?

The term, “Equality” exists only in Mathematics. Now why so? For the simple fact, if Equality was prevailing everywhere then there wouldn’t be terms such as, “First Class”, “Business Class”, “Executive Class”, “VIP Class” and countless other classes. Let us explain this with a case scenario.

The lady next seat to you might really be sick because of her pregnancy. The seats in the economy class are too cramped for her to stretch her legs. The altitude, the stress of air travel, the toss, the humidity all of which further augments her toil to gargantuan heights. If only, if only she could stretch her legs, it would alleviate her sufferings to a greater extent.

The hostesses moving around are aware of this. Just a meter away, the entire first class is flying empty and if only they could move her to one of those vacant seats, it would be like finding an Oasis in the Sahara for the suffering young lady.

But do you think the flight attendants would even move a jot to accommodate her there to ease her 12 hour flight? No way. They would merely take their eyes and pass. Acting and conducting themselves as if, its business as usual.

You cannot blame them for too. Their hands are tied. The element of Good Samaritan law does not operate in air. For their are given stern instructions, nothing is given away for free and that is even more true if you are flying at 32,000 ft above ground level.

There is just one distinction today, those who have it and those who have it not

It is said that a mere 5 % reach those higher creamy institutions of the world. While the rest 95% or so ought to be satisfied with mediocre ones.

The Data clearly shows the reason as to why there are huge gaps between the Rich and the Poor. The ground reality is even more alarming, for of the 95%, a mere 30 % end up as graduates.

Thus on one end, there is so much cry about illiteracy and how millions suffer because of lack of Education while on the other end there is literally no provisions whatsoever ever available for those seeking to avail one.

Who has to be blamed?

We are not here to blame anyone. If there is really somebody to be blamed then blame it on the individual. For they have allowed themselves to be led. We live in societies that glorifies poverty. The Rich are scorned and blamed, while the poor are depicted as holy.

The movies and the books that abound the society are filled with stories to earn the sympathy and empathy of the reader, thus, poverty is the best trigger point.

It has been found, when a BMW hits a cyclist, the opinion of the masses swing for the cyclists, even though she was jumping the signal.

We have been fine tuned to love poverty and shun riches. If you were to walk into school and ask students as to what profession they would like to take up in their future, 99% would say, doctors, engineers, merchant navy, pilots, professors. But a mere 0.9% would say, Business.

Why? Because we are trained and schooled to trade out time for money. Instead of making money to work for us, we work for money. Toiling night and day, fighting and quarreling with friends and families, hating those we ought to love and love those who are to hate. Saving for the next 30 years only to head off to the Caribbean when there is no strength left in the bones to enjoy the action. Pathetic.

Slavery is not the thing of the past, it is the scenario of the present

We were told slavery was the cruelty of the past and that all Humans ought to be treated with fairness, dignity and respect. Hey! you just wait. Try going to your supervisor and ask him for a day off for you would want to attend your son’s school day.

You would be hauled and threatened so much so that you wouldn’t be able to sleep well for the rest of the week. This is not something that we are writing here, this is the most prevalent scenario that is happening across all corners of the world.

Though on contract you are eligible for pay holidays yet it is solely at the discretion of your managers to award you one. Thus you are in invisible chains. Chains that bound you and swallow you up alive, and yet you claim you are free when the yoke of hard labor has ensnared you. You call this freedom? Think again.

Health is not Wealth, but the exact opposite

All these years we were taught that Health is Wealth, but apparently it is a flawed lesson that is erroneously obsolete and misleading and had caused the destruction of many.

Why do we say that? For the simple fact, the Health of an individual requires constant Care and Nutrition. Of course, both care and nutrition requires tons on money.

Take for example using a Gymnasium. Are you aware what it costs to use the facility of a quality Gym? Gargantuan, just to say the least. Of course it is always a good idea to use a Gym of High standards. One for the cleanliness and hygiene that they maintain, and two for the type of crowds that they entertain.

The last thing you would want is to get killed after a workout and to say the least, that does happen according to countless reports.

Next let us let us talk about Hospital cares. Are you aware how many of those syndromes that plague humanity can be avoided if detected early?

They say, Prevention is better than Cure, but to prevent something from happening, you would require services of great doctors and nurses to aid you. That again costs. For no one would even touch you if you don’t make the first deposit. So, you would understand why those who have always live to a ripe old age.

Many went broke living this wrong Philosophy

It is imperative to understand that there is just a specific amount of time in which a man can be productive. The Bible calls this period as sowing time. There is this beautiful example in the Bible where a master of the house calls on his 3 servants and gives them a certain amount of gold talents with the instruction that he would be away for a long time and that to keep them busy he is giving them the gold talents.

The first and the second servant apply their mind and body to multiply their gold while the third one, slumbers and waits for the time to pass.

When the master arrives he learns of the industries that the first one and the second one had started and thus awards them with more reward. Whilst to the third, learning that he had let the precious time go by, he licks him out of his comfort zone, thus depriving him of everything that he once had.

This is a great example that ought to preached and delivered as a lesson notes to all those aspiring young. But apparently, the exact contrary is done. Thus the youth think and act that the Rich are bad it is noble to be considered poor. So the toil not, work not, sweat not. When it is clearly written, “thou shall live by the sweat of thy brows”, here we are preaching the young, sweat not, slumber more, and winter will keep you warm and cozy.

Conclusion

Meaning is quite simple, just use common sense. Of all the evil that befalls unto man, the single most cause is the lack of Money. Don’t believe, then just look around, you will find plenty of examples.
